Frequently Asked Questions

How can I ensure the authenticity of a watch?

Bring your watch to us and our Swiss-trained watchmakers will carefully inspect it. We check the movement, case, and serial numbers to confirm authenticity. We can also provide an appraisal or certificate of authenticity.

How do I set the time on my watch?

Every watch is a little different. We’ll be happy to show you how to set your watch properly when you visit us. Or send us an email with a picture of the watch and we will give you the direction.

How do I set the date on my watch?

It’s important not to change the date during certain hours (usually between 8 pm and 3 am) to avoid damaging the mechanism. If you’re not sure how to do it safely, send us an email with a picture, visit us or send us your watch and we’ll assist you.

Can I send you my watch for polishing only?

Yes, absolutely (at the exception of plated metal). We offer professional polishing and refinishing services. Simply drop by
our workshop or ship your watch to us securely—we’ll restore its shine.

Can I go swim with my watch?

Only if your watch is specifically rated for water resistance and tested regularly. We offer water-resistance testing and resealing
in our workshop. Bring or send us your watch before swimming.

The face of my watch became foggy, what’s wrong with it?

Fog under the glass usually means moisture has entered the watch. This can quickly damage the movement. Bring or ship it to us immediately so we can dry, clean, and reseal it before further
harm occurs.

My quartz watch stopped working, are you going to service the watch or is a battery replacement enough?

Most likely a battery replacement is all that’s needed. We will test your watch first, replace the battery, and if necessary,
recommend a service if we find something else.

How long is the life of a battery?

Typically 1 to 3 years, depending on the watch, functions, and seals. We recommend visiting us for regular battery replacement and a water-resistance check if your watch is used near water.

Can I go swimming with my vintage watch?

We don’t recommend it. Vintage watches often lose their original water resistance. We can check and advise you on your
specific watch, but in most cases, it’s best to avoid water.

Can I do any sport with an automatic watch?

Automatic watches are built to be worn daily, but heavy impacts (like tennis or mountain biking) can affect precision. For sports, we suggest a quartz or a sports-dedicated model. We’ll gladly
advise you on the right use of your watch.

Can you engrave the back of my watch?

Yes, we offer laser engraving services for personalization. You can bring your watch or send it to us safely for engraving.
